Well it is back to work time!  We have been going through and cleaning out our stuff..getting rid of things we don't use, painting the house etc.  It makes it difficult to decorate when everything is everywhere.  I think tonight though we are going to do the tree.  Traditionally Mike and I go with his cousin Randall the day after thanksgiving and pick out a huge tree for the house.  This year though we are just going to setup the fake tree and decorate it.  It isn't quite the same without that tree smell...but this year has been so crazy-and with money tight it doesn't make sense to go get one.  We did go and get our ornaments though.  Every year Mike and I go to the Hallmark store and pick out an ornament for us with the year on it..and one for Daisy!  We usually get the singing snowmen also-but we didn't like the one for this year so we got the girl reindeer and rudolph that kiss! lol.  I am working on daisy's stocking..I never got a chance to finish it last year..so hopefully I will get that done soon so that she can have her stocking put up with Mine and Mike's.

I added a holiday theme to the travelinghearts.com website today to try to get into the festive swing of things.  It just seems like there are not enough hours in the day!  I did start importing the video from the wedding onto the computer.  So now it is just sitting there waiting for me to edit it...which will take a long time!  So many projects! lol.

November 26th

Things have been really busy.  I went to Half Moon Bay, CA recently for work.  It was a whirlwind of stuff to do.  Scooter moved back to Maryland...and I have to admit..I kinda miss him.  I have been wanting to update the site but the work has been nuts.  Mike is in training for Wachovia and will continue to train through Feb.  So we don't get to see each other very much.

I am hoping to work on my wedding video this weekend.  Wish me luck!  There is A LOT of tape to go through-but it would be nice to get it all put to DVD format to send out to the family.

That's it for now..I will write more later!

September 14, 2008

Hey everyone!

Well, I am finally getting over being sick.  It looks like I might have a scar on my neck-but hopefully it will go away.  Things have been really busy here.  GMAC closed their home mortgage nationwide.  So the let go of over 5000 people.  September 5th was Mike's last day.  He has accepted a position with Wachovia doing personal investments I believe.  I don't really understand what he is going to be honest with you! lol.  He starts training for that job on October 1st.  The training is for 6 months.  I don't know how Mike finds jobs so quickly-so I hope he enjoys this new position and gets through the training quickly!

I will be in Maryland in October for my best friend Dionne-her wedding.  I am excited about that.  Mike won't be able to go with me because he will be in training for his new job.

Scooter is doing well.  We are living together much better this time than we did the first time around.  The first time was a train wreck!  Things are good now though and it is nice to have him here at the house for however long he is going to be here.

Well it is Sunday so we are getting ready to watch the football games.  Dallas plays monday night against the Eagles.

August 29th

I get off of work early today!!!!!!!  I am so ready for the weekend!  I have some work that I will need to come in and do...but it won't be a lot of stuff.  I got a lot done today since a lot of people were out of the office.  We have a lot going on this weekend.  We will be celebrating Julie Golini (Mike's Mom) her 50th Birthday this weekend.  The friends are getting together for poker.  I have a lot of projects around the house that I want to get done as well.

I can't wait to get better so that I can go work out!  I am a lot better today.  I think I am in the final stages of being better.  Being sick has made it a long week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

August 28th

So I am feeling much better today.  It is like 75% gone...the meds have really been doing a good job.  I didn't get a lot of sleep last night...couldn't get comfortable and kept waking up.  Today is probably my best day yet.  I am hoping the whole thing will be cleared up by Tuesday.

Scooter had dental work today.  That can't be any fun.

I have a ton of work to do, but wanted to write a quick little note.

August 26th

Well I am not doing very well.  I had Scooter take me to the doctor yesterday.  It turns out that I have a bacterial infection called cellulitis.  Yesterday when I woke up I thought I had a bug bite and didn't think anything about it, but as the day went on..it got a lot worse and I had small blisters.  It is on my neck area where my chin and neck meet...all the way across like someone took a knife to my throat.

I am taking antibiotics right now, but it is doing nothing for the pain.

Scooter blames Daisy for the infection..lol.  I don't know what caused it-but I never want to get it again.  This is horrible.

I will be okay..I just don't know how long the recovery process will be.

August 24th

I stayed at home friday, I wasn't feeling very well.  I got a lot of rest and feel much better today.  I had to work this morning, but nothing too bad.

I didn't get to take my test for school on saturday..I missed the part where it was not walk-in but you had to schedule to come in.  So monday I will setup a scheduled time.

Last night was good, we went over to Randall's house to go play cards.  I cleaned out the computer room and started to go through all of my sewing projects.  Trying to figure out which thing to start next.

I don't have a ton of things to report on-Mike and I got our passports this weekend for our trip to Mexico in December.  They were really expensive! lol.

That's it from me.

August 21st

I have kind of lapsed on the blogs.  I tried to write last night, but was having problems with my computer.  Work was good today, I got a lot done so I am happy about that.  This weekend is busy.  Mike and I have to go get passports, the cars need oil changes, I work on Sunday and I have my college entry exam to take as well.  Plus I really need to get the computer room organized...I can't even really walk in there right now.  I just need my world to be organized...and it isn't so I am working really hard on getting everything in place.  This year feels like it is going by so fast!  December is right around the corner.  I haven't been to the gym yet...ugh.  I really need to go in before I start gaining weight again.  My husband has lost 34 lbs...that is just CRAZY!

We got the directv at the house so that we could have sunday ticket for Football.  I can't stand having to get re-adjusted to all the channels and everything.  Oh well.  Daisy went to the groomers...and she looks horrible! lol.
I can't wait for all of her hair to grow out again.  I am starting to organize a get together at the house for Labor Day weekend.  I sent out the e-vite today.

Maybe I should go blond.  (complete random thought)

alright, well I am getting ready to go home-so I am signing off for the day.

August 19th

So it has been a couple of days since I have written anything.  Things have been pretty busy.  We all had a blast on Saturday with Scooter's birthday.  We went and saw Tropic Thunder then came home and played poker with the friends.  Sunday I came into work because one of our friends birthdays is this Saturday, she is actually in Hawaii right now, and we do different things to trash the offices for Birthdays.  This time we are doing the red party cups.  Scooter helped me with it last night.  I am going to post pictures of the past offices that we have done under the photo gallery area.  They are pretty funny.

I finished reading the series that I had started on Saturday.  Well I have a ton of work to do.

August 14

So I didn't write yesterday, I ended up staying at home and resting.  I guess I was more tired than what I thought.  Scooter and I car-pooled today.  Which is good for both of us...helps us save in gas money.  The traffic is so bad too that driving in the carpool lane really helps.

Scooter and Mike have been glued to watching the olympics.  It's funny to hear them comment on all the different events.

We tried to plan out Scooter's birthday on Saturday.  You know Scooter-all day events with no stopping! lol.  So it looks like we are going to go play some miniature golf-then a movie-then have a bunch of people over to play cards and other games.  We have a lot of house cleaning to do-and Scooter isn't fully moved in yet.  He has stuff all over the house.  We have all been tired this week though.

So that series of books that I started-I am on the third book in the series.  I realize now why I had originally thought that they were not very well written, etc, etc-it's because they are "young adult" books.  So yes, I am reading books meant for a VERY young crowd.  Believe me when I say that Scooter likes to taunt me about it every chance he gets!  I would probably do the same thing if the roles were reversed.  My friend Jennifer and I are going to start a little book club.  We each pick a book-and Scooter says that he wants to do it as well.  They both made sure to point out that "young adult" books were not allowed.  Ha Ha....I will probably not live down the books I am reading for the rest of my life!  It should be fun though.  As soon as I am done with my kiddie vampire books we are going to start.  Which shouldn't be too long since the reading is so quick and easy!  I get to pick the first book...so I have to find something good to get back on the A list with the two of them.

I am trying to get enrolled into school.  I think I have decided and I will be going to Irvine Valley Community for my AA in computer science.  I have to go take my assessment test on Saturday the 23rd.  THREE HOURS!  That is way to long for a test!  I need to use my GI Bill money though before it is all gone.  So we will see how it goes.
